Day 17 - Biggest Loser
D and I love to watch "The Biggest Loser". It really helps motivate us to work our butts off to reach our goals. (D is on the elliptical in the background) I did my cardio earlier today and have been going to a personal trainer. That guy totally kicked the crap out of me yesterday and I love him for it.
I can't wait to see what happens when my personal trainer time is up in December. I think I'll be a whole different person!

Day 16 - the evil and mighty acorn!
I have to do evil acorn pics now and then.
But really I was doing this for a group called "Take a Class with Dave and Dave". It's a little online group that puts out totally optional assignments every week in order to challenge us and develop our skills in photography. This was for an assignment called "shadows"
instead of lighting photos to get rid of shadows, we were to light the photo to include shadows or even to specifically focus on the shadows....

Day 14 - Proof that I'm crazy
I was just messing around in the darkroom with long exposures and a laser/pen light.
It was a boring day and I had nothing to work on! I mean come on... who doesn't want to make weird, creepy, evil ghosty face photos?

Day 13 - Lights! Camera! Awwww damnit!
My lighting just wasn't working in anything I did today. This is pretty much how I felt all afternoon while trying to take photos for a friend...
Day 12 - Silly Sock Season is Near!
I am feeling a little better, but it's been cool out. That means all of my fuzzy, silly socks are ready to make their way into my wardrobe again!

Day 10 - yep it's strep
everyone seen in this photo has strep throat.
I literally spent the entire day at Kaiser. My son missed school, so I took him in for his throat culture and popped over to my doc's floor to see if mine was back... nope not until 1pm... ok.... my son's doc did a rapid test...
Yes, it's strep....
so I left the exam room, went to the nurse's station, made an appointment for my youngest... picked up the oldest one's meds, went to school, pulled the youngest out of class, brought him to the doc's office... rapid test... yep it's strep.... go down to my doc's floor.... pull a nurse out... OMG YES YOU HAVE STREP GET YOUR ANTIBIOTICS NOOOOOWWW!!!
go downstairs, get everyone else's meds and get home around 3pm.

9.365 - cough syrup is nasty
The whole house came down with strep throat (well except D.... he escaped)
This was prior to the strep diagnosis and the doc said it was just a virus... here have some cough syrup.
Cough syrup is frigging nasty... I figure I should try and have a little fun while trying to get the stuff down my throat

8.365 - Clean Slate
Tomorrow I start with a personal trainer.

Poker Night!
Once a month there's a Texas Hold Em Tournament that rotates around to different houses. This weekend it was our turn to host.
I made it through the merging of tables, but didn't last too much past that point. No biggie.. I'm used to losing my money during these tourneys. I have yet to win.
Overall the night was good... I had a fun time, D got pretty lit and the kids of course loved the company. They played on the Wii with many of our friends. I haven't looked to see what my Mii's ratings are now in Wii sports... I'm sure it will be interesting...

Day 6 - Painting on a deadline
I've spent the past few days painting the inside of the house. Tomorrow is poker night and I wanted this place to be just about done so that people could enjoy the new color scheme instead of each room being 1/2 done.
I'm exhausted and I'm sick as hell... but the house is going to look gooooooooooooood.
I like shadows and high contrast... can you tell?

Day 5 - Will I be the Biggest Loser?
This so far has been the hardest to post.
I'd done another 365 but stopped for several months after day 89.
I've been fighting weight issues for many many years and on Monday I start sessions with a personal trainer.
I can't wait to start, and I needed a photo to reference as "before"
I've already managed to keep off 35 out of 40 pounds that I dropped a year and a half ago, but I can't live like this anymore. I want to run, jump, and play. I don't want to be out of breath so easily. And I wouldn't mind a hot bod.
The grimace on my face is because I knew I'd be posting this for all to see..... joy.

I was tired of how orange my hair was looking... so I bleached it all out and then dyed it really freaking dark so that the orange wouldn't keep poking through. This was during the bleaching stage, and I spent all day pretty much just doing this.
